TRAVEL: SAN FRANCISCO LOEWS REGENCY HOTEL

I lived in San Francisco for eight years and last week I was able to share one of my favorite cities in the world with my DC friends during a West Coast Girl’s Trip! There are many places to stay in the City by the Bay, but The Loews Regency Hotel is the PERFECT home-away-from-home in SF!  From the moment we checked in, we were spoiled rotten with their impeccable service!  Upon arrival we were greeted by the most helpful and friendly staff and whisked up to our room where a beautiful welcome gift awaited us. On top of all of that, we got a stunning birds eye view of the city from our room with bridge to bridge views!

After checking in, I immediately called down to the spa for some serious R&R.  Rest and relaxation was exactly what the doctor ordered after a long weekend in Wine Country (stay tuned for future posts)!  From the moment I walked through the spa doors, I could feel the stress leaving my body!  I opted for a mani&pedi session and by the time I left the spa I felt like a new person! For those couples visiting SF for a romantic get away, make sure to check out the Loews luxurious couples massage!

Yes, the Loews Regency is known for its AMAZING views over the city, but that is not the ONLY reason you should book your next stay here!  The Loews offers world class cuisine in the luxury of your room served with a side of view!  Each morning my ladies and I would reach for the phone and dial 0 to have the most delectable breakfast brought to our door while we lazily laid in bed, took a moment to read the local paper, and enjoyed the world class service and views the Loews had to offer (But don’t forget to head down to the Loews gorgeous restaurant in the lobby if you’re not feeling too lazy)!

Staying at the Loews is not just about a place to sleep, it truly is an experience!  It is the perfect place to unwind and get pampered, or, if you are looking for a bit of adventure, it is the perfect location to use as base camp as you explore the city!  I loved how it was just a quick walk to the Ferry Building. This is one of my favorite sites in downtown; if you are looking for fabulous food and wine look no further!

The Ferry Building offers some of the best food SF has to offer!  You MUST check out Slanted Door (read more about it here), this modern Vietnamese American restaurant overlooking the Bay Bridge will make you think you have left SF and landed in beautiful Vietnam!

Other must stop shops include Blue Bottle Coffee, the Wine Bar, and Cow Girl Creamery for all of you cheese lovers out there (read more about my top picks here)!

TIP: If you’re around on a Saturday, make sure you check out the Ferry Building’s fabulous Saturday Market. The early bird definitely gets the worm here; crowds and lines become overpowering by 10 AM!

If you come to SF you know you MUST EXPLORE the city by Cable Car!  The Loews is just a 12 minute walk from the bustling shopping district of Union Square, a prime location to catch a Cable Car to Fishermans Wharf!  There is nothing quite like the feeling of hanging onto the outside of a cable car as you climb the famous San Francisco hills!

Finally, make sure to take the time and get up BEFORE sunrise to enjoy the beauty and quiet hush that dawn brings over the city.  With the stunning views that the Loews Regency offers, all you have to do is roll out of bed to experience this amazing time of day.  You will not be disappointed as the city turns from night to day right in front of your very eyes as the sun lights the sky and city on fire.
