Spring is here in DC and there is no better way to welcome the warm weather than with an intimate rooftop spring dinner party! There is nothing better than bringing good friends together over a great meal!
I wanted the feel of the tablescape to be rustic chic, so I opted to use antique-style lanterns instead of candles. I love the combination of blue and yellow; the juxtaposition of warm and cool colors together makes both colors pop. I used patterned napkins and a patterned tablecloth to create a bit more playful vibe.
As you all know I am a huge fan of brining texture into my table settings. Here, I did that by layering birch bark chargers with my Target plates and wooden bowls. I always love adding a little something extra at each guests place setting so I attached an antique brass bell to each napkin with jute twine.
We kept the meal simple by taking advantage of the grills on the roof and dined al fresco with grass fed beef burgers from the family farm in Wisconsin, locally sourced grilled veggies dressed simply with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and a bountiful fresh garden salad.
I hope this inspires you to get outside, grab your friends, and enjoy an al fresco spring dinner experience! Don’t forget to use the hashtag #createchicville and share all your amazing creations with me!
