There is nothing better than warm summer nights filled with your favorite people gathered around a table. For this summer tablescape, I chose to create more of a rustic chic vibe, something you might find while vacationing in the Hamptons. I took an old quilt that reminded me of being on the seashore in the Hamptons and used that as the tablecloth. Next I layered grass chargers at each seat; for me, nothing screams summer like gorgeous freshly cut grass!
Rough hewn pottery and wooden appetizer plates sandwiched denim linen napkins. I topped each acacia plate with an oyster shell to re=emphasize the seashore Hampton feel I was going for with the table. TIP: Write your guests name on each shell and use it as a place card!
As you all know, there always have to be candles on my dinner tables. But instead of wax candles, I opted for camping lanterns. They give off the most beautiful glow, and are especially wonderful for windy rooftops because they will never go out!
I hope this inspires you to take advantage of al fresco dining. There are only three more weeks of summer left, YIKES! Remember use the hashtag #createchicville and show me your favorite tablescapes from this summer!
