Have you ever walked into a home decor store and fallen in LOVE with something only to realize it is WAY OVER your budget… me too! This happened recently when I walked into one of my favorite stores; I fell in love with a stool yet didn’t have the money to make it work. So I had to start thinking outside the box; how could I make a “high end” stool without spending all the money?! Here is how you can make your very own DIY furry stool… What you will need: A.) some kind of base for the legs ( I used an old chair base for mine) B.) A 1 foot X 1 foot piece of wood C.) 1 phillips screwdriver D.) 1 staple gun (with staples) E.) stuffing F.) 16 X16 West Elm Mongolian pillow case G:) 4 screws and 4 washers
STEP 1: Turn the base (the legs) upside down center the base on the wood.
STEP 2: Insert the screw into a washer and use the screwdriver to insert the screw, threw the base, into the wood. Repeat 3 more times (or as many times as necessary given your base).
STEP 3: Flip the stool onto its legs.
STEP 4: Take the pillow case and place it kitty-corner across the wood. Staple the lining to the wood.
STEP 5: Insert stuffing into pillow case, zip the pillow case closed (if you purchase West Elm pillow case).
STEP 6: Turn the stool over and staple the corners of the pillow case to the wood base.
STEP 7: Place in your home and enjoy! If you have any questions, let me know in the comments section below and I’ll be sure to respond with help. Make sure to use the hashtag #CREATECHICVILLE I would love to see your fabulous creations!
