When I was in Seattle this past summer I had one day to explore the downtown area and hit all the highlights. Here are my top picks if you have to squeeze everything into one fun filled day!
I began the day with a coffee tasting — I mean, when in Rome right — just outside the downtown area at Slate Coffee Roasters. First off, the coffee at Slate Coffee Roasters is out of this world AMAZING! Slate also offers a deconstructed espresso and milk, (as pictured here) it is out-of-this-world!
Next head to the Olympic Sculpture Park which is filled to the brim with amazing pieces; here you walk along manicured grounds and get interesting views of the Needle and surrounding city.
Of course, no trip to Seattle is complete without a stop at the famous Pike Place Market. This place is a sensory overload! Watch the famous fish throwers, then browse the fresh fish vendors and flower market where you can get a huge bouquet for only $10.00!
After exploring the crazy busy Pike Place Market, take a quick walk up the hill to enjoy a quiet moment at Cafe Campagne. This french bistro serves up amazing traditional french bistro cuisine. Ugh, the croissants are so incredibly buttery and flakey and almost melt in your mouth!
Another must see is the Experience Music Project Museum. The architecture is amazing and allows for fun photos with the Space Needle. At the end the day, head to the top of the Space Needle for sunset to gaze out over the city and reflect on an awesome day in Seattle!
